On August 26, 2024, BETA-UAS CEO, Indra Permana Sopian, was invited as a speaker at the five-year roadmap development event for the operationalization of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAVs) by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU). Held by the Communications and Electronics Staff (Skomlekau) at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, this event aimed to provide strategic guidance for the development and acquisition of UAVs through 2029.

Indra Sopian shared insights on how the domestic drone industry could play a vital role in supporting Indonesia's defense capabilities. He highlighted the significance of local drone development in various military operations, including border surveillance, maritime monitoring, humanitarian missions, and disaster relief efforts.

The event was opened by Askomlek Kasau, Air Marshal TNI I Made Susila, who emphasized the acceleration of UAVs development as part of TNI AU's modernization efforts. UAVs has been crucial in improving TNI AU’s operational capabilities, particularly in intelligence gathering and surveillance, while minimizing risks to personnel on the ground.

The roadmap is expected to accelerate UAVs adoption and optimize TNI AU's operational capabilities over the next five years. It also outlines strategies for training, hardware and software procurement, and technology transfer to support Indonesia's defense technology independence.

BETA-UAS is committed to collaborating with TNI AU and contributing to the growth of an independent and globally competitive defense technology sector in line with the roadmap being developed.
